All The Rumbling, Minus The Dancing And Singing! The WWE Championship is set to be defended as John “Bradshaw” Layfield puts his title on the line against both Kurt Angle and The Big Show in a triple threat match. Kurt Angle had a shot at JBL on Smackdown a few weeks ago in a match that both JBL’s Cabinet and Kurt Angle’s crew got involved with. The Big Show would come out and clear house and as a result, Smackdown General Manager Teddy Long made a triple threat match for the Royal Rumble PPV. Since then the three men have used their allies to get the better of each other. JBL fooled Kurt Angle into walking into a showering Joy Giovanni and then Angle tied Joy up in the back on JBL’s car before it was revealed that Kurt and JBL were working together to get the better of Big Show.

The World Heavyweight Championship will also be defended tonight as Triple H defends against Randy Orton. Randy Orton beat Batista to earn a shot at the title after some miscommunication between Batista and Triple H. Batista enters the Royal Rumble match much to the annoyance of Triple H. There will be 15 Raw and 15 Smackdown superstars in the Royal Rumble match including the likes of John Cena, Chris Benoit, Shawn Michaels, Edge, Christian, Rey Mysterio, Eddie Guerrero, Ric Flair, Booker T and Kane. Shawn Michaels and Edge will be pulling double duty as their rivalry comes to a head in a singles match. Edge put Shawn Michaels out of action months ago and when Michaels returned as the special guest referee at New Year’s Revolution, Edge blamed Michaels for losing the match.

Also tonight, The Undertaker goes one on one with Heidenreich in a casket match. The match stipulation was chosen by The Undertaker, exploiting Heidenreichs fear of caskets. The Undertaker has already sent a message in a handicap match where Undertaker locked Heidenreichs manager Paul Heyman in a casket.

On Sunday Night Heat before the event Maven defeated Rhyno.

The show begins with a video package centred around the Royal Rumble match. Michael Cole and Tazz then welcome us to the 2005 Royal Rumble PPV. Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler pick up as it’s a Raw brand match kicking us off tonight.

Shawn Michaels vs. Edge

It’s a first PPV match between these two men. Edge has lost at 5 previous Royal Rumble events whilst Shawn Michaels has a 6-5-1 record. Edge attacks Michaels as he gets into the ring but Shawn disposes of Edge, clotheslining him out of the ring before skinning the cat back in. Back in the ring and Michaels hits a couple of big chops before smashing Edge’s face into the top turnbuckle. Both men are expected to be in the Royal Rumble match later. Edge hits a swinging neckbreaker as an “Edge sucks” chant breaks out. The two men exchange right hands until Michaels hits a Lou Thesz press and some big right hands. Michaels then throws Edge out of the ring before missing with a baseball slide. Edge takes Michaels down and then rolls back into the ring before hitting Michaels with a baseball slide.

Back in the ring and Edge hits a hard Irish whip and a knee drop to keep Shawn grounded. Shawn fights back with some right hands and chops but Edge takes Michaels down for the first near fall of the night. Edge applies a reverse chinlock. Michaels hasn’t won a match at a Royal Rumble event since 1998 where he beat The Undertaker in a casket match. Edge breaks the hold and mocks Shawn Michaels before dropping Shawns head on the top rope. Edge then goes up top but misses with a flying cross body which allows Michaels to roll him up for a two count. Edge hits a thrust kick for a two count. Edge attempts a side suplex but Michaels counters it for a near fall. Edge applies a sleeper hold but Michaels gets out of it and hits some big chops, a knee to the face and a sledge. Shawn hits an inverted atomic drop, another big chop and then some right hands in the corner.

Michaels catapults Edge into the corner for a near fall and Edge then rolls out of the ring and heads to the back! The two men fight around the ring where Edge hits Shawn with a spear on the outside. Michaels just about rolls back into the ring where Edge hits him with another spear! It looks all said and done but Michaels kicks out at 2! Edge pops Michaels on the top rope but Michaels headbutts him down to the canvas before diving off with an elbow drop! Michaels gets back up to his feet and motions for sweet chin music but Edge ducks it and hits an electric chair drop! Edge hooks the leg but Michaels kicks out at 2! Edge then applies his new submission leg lock but Michaels gets to the ropes. Michaels rolls Edge up but Edge reverses the pinfall and grabs onto the ropes to get the 3! Edge beats Shawn Michaels tonight with a lot of help from the ropes!

General Managers Eric Bischoff and Teddy Long are backstage discussing which brand will win the Royal Rumble tonight. Torrie Wilson and Christy are in charge of rolling the balls with the Royal Rumble entry numbers on. Ric Flair and Eddie Guerrero are the first two men to pick out their balls. Ric Flair is happy with what he draws but Eddie Guerrero looks disappointed. Guerrero hugs Flair and takes off. Flair then realises Guerrero stole his number and takes off after him!

Heidenreich is backstage when Snitsky shows up. Heidenreich doesn’t like caskets. Snitsky likes Heidenreich and Heidenreich likes Snitsky. Snitsky has an idea for tonight.

There’s a VT for The Undertaker and Heidenreich next.

The Undertaker vs. Heidenreich – Casket Match

This is a rematch from Survivor Series where The Undertaker defeated Heidenreich. It’s a Royal Rumble debut for Heidenreich. Undertaker goes right in for a headlock and tries to drag Heidenreich over to the casket. Undertaker hits a hiptoss and an armdrag and Heidenreich is totally freaked out by the casket. Heidenreich hits a couple of shoulder charges but Undertaker takes Heidenreich down and applies a single leg Boston crab. Heidenreich rolls out of the ring and heads to the back but Undertaker is after him! Heidenreich reverses an Irish whip and throws Undertaker into the casket and then back into the ring where he lays into him with rights and lefts. Undertaker applies a triangle choke but from nowhere comes Gene Snitsky who stomps on Undertaker, breaking the hold!

Snitsky hits a big clothesline on The Undertaker and then he and Heidenreich hits a double suplex. A “Kane” chant breaks out but there’s no sign of him. Snitsky calls for the referee’s to open the casket and as they do, out pops Kane! Kane kicks Heidenreich out of the ring and then clotheslines Snitsky out too. Kane and Snitsky battle through the crowd leaving Undertaker and Heidenreich. Heidenreich throws Undertaker into the steel steps and then pull back some of the mats on the outside. Heidenreich peeks into the casket before pushing it into The Undertaker. Heidenreich rolls Undertaker back into the ring and then applies some sort of choke that he struggled to get on properly. Heidenreich rolls Undertaker into the casket but can’t close the lid as Undertaker gets his arm up. Undertaker then pulls Heidenreich half into the casket and leaps off the apron with a legdrop!

Back in the ring and Undertaker hits a big boot but then Heidenreich counters a clothesline into a sidewalk slam. Heidenreich then hooks the leg but the referee doesn’t count because it’s a freakin casket match. Heidenreich rolls Undertaker into the casket again but again Undertaker gets out of it. Undertaker hits some big right hands and then a DDT. Undertaker then hits a pretty terrible chokeslam and a tombstone. Undertaker rolls Heidenreich into the casket and it’s over! Undertaker wins the casket match tonight!

Teddy Long is backstage with Eddie Guerrero asking for Ric Flairs number. Evolution then show up and Eddie hands over the number. Eddie also hands over Rics wallet! Batista then wants to go and get his number but Triple H says that Batista has to stick around to go over what’s happening with Orton.

Christian and Tyson Tomko are with Eric Bischoff trying to find out others peoples numbers. Teddy Long arrives and Christian tells him that he’s just singed a petition to get him fired. Christian picks his number and is happy with the result. John Cena turns up and Christian isn’t impressed. Christian cuts a rap on Cena and Cena replies with one of his own.

John “Bradshaw” Layfield (c) vs. The Big Show vs. Kurt Angle – WWE Championship Match

It’s a first time triple threat match between these three men. Big Show has previously lost at 5 Royal Rumble events whilst Bradshaw has lost in all 6 of his previous matches at this event. JBL and Big Show get into it in the early going, with Big Show knocking the champion down. Kurt exits the ring and watches from the outside. Big Show hits a big chop and an Irish whip but runs into a big boot. JBL comes off the middle rope but Big Show catches him, slams him and executes a leg drop. Kurt Angle breaks up the pinfall that follows but Big Show takes care of him and then hits a suplex on JBL. It’s all Big Show as he takes Kurt down with a big boot and then clotheslines both men out of the ring. Big Show takes apart the announce desk and sets up JBL for a chokeslam but Kurt hits Show with a low blow and then smashes him with a monitor which sends Big Show crashing through the announce desk.

Kurt and JBL go at it in the ring and Angle hits a German suplex. JBL holds on to the ropes to avoid another and then attempts a clothesline from hell but Kurt ducks it and hits another German suplex. Angle tries for an Angle slam but JBL ducks down and hits a big boot for a two count. Big Show then re-appears and takes down both men with clotheslines, powerslams and headbutts. Kurt and JBL double team Big Show to take him down, JBL hitting an Angle Slam and then a clothesline from hell from JBL. JBL disposes of Angle and then pins Big Show for a near fall. Big Show then hits a chokeslam on JBL and pins the champion but Bradshaw gets his foot on the bottom rope. Layfield heads to the outside where Big Show spears him through the barricade. Kurt grabs a steel chair but Big Show sees him coming and flapjacks him into the mat. Orlando Jordan and The Bashams are out to see to JBL, meanwhile in the ring Luther Reigns and Mark Jindrak attack The Big Show. Orlando Jordan rolls JBL back into the ring where he nails Kurt with a clothesline from hell! JBL hooks the leg and this one is over! Layfield retains his WWE Championship tonight! Good triple threat match between these three.

Carlito is backstage and asks Batista to sign his petition to get rid of Teddy Long as GM of Smackdown. Batista declines and threatens to shove the petition up Carlito’s arse. Batista then carries on to draw his ball out from the tumbler. Bischoff tells Batista that Evolution are barred from ringside and Batista takes great pleasure in heading off to tell Triple H.

There’s a video package next for Triple H and Randy Orton.

Triple H (c) vs. Randy Orton – World Heavyweight Championship Match

This is the second pay per view singles match between these two men. Triple H won the previous match back at Unforgiven. Triple H has a 3-5-1 record at Royal Rumble events so not the best. Orton has a 0-1 record. Orton takes down Triple H early and even hits him with  backslide for a near fall. Orton continues the early momentum with a big back body drop and then goes for an RKO but Triple H puts the brakes on and rolls out of the ring. Orton throws Triple H back into the ring and hits him with a nice dropkick for a two count. Triple H could be the only man to have wrestled on both 2005 PPVs so far this year and won on both with a victory over Orton tonight. Orton drops Triple H on the top turnbuckle and then attempts another RKO but Triple H throws him all the way out of the ring. Triple H then throws Orton into the ring steps. The crowd are definitely behind Orton in this one.

Orton gets back into the ring but Triple H lays in some boots and then chokes him. Orton manages a big boot and then lays in some right hands but Triple H hits a chopblock. A “Randy sucks” chant breaks out now so ignore what I said before about the crowd being behind Orton. Triple H smashes Ortons knee into the ringpost and then hits another chopblock. Helmsley drives Ortons knee into the mat and then drops an elbow. This time last year Orton was in a rivalry with Mick Foley so he’s had a good year. Randy rolls Triple H out of nowhere for a near fall but Triple H takes control back by applying a figure four. Orton manages to reverse the hold but Triple H quickly gets to the ropes. Hunter then goes back to work on Ortons knee but Orton kicks Triple H all the way into the Spanish announcers. Triple H gathers himself and gets back into the ring where Orton hits him with his trademark backbreaker.

The two men slug it out and Orton hits a swinging neckbreaker for a near fall. Orton hits another neckbreaker for another near fall and then a powerslam. Triple H hits an inverted atomic drop and then uncharacteristically goes to the top but Orton is up and arm drags him down to the mat. Orton then goes up to the top and hits a high cross body for a two count. The crowd have definitely turned on Orton. Triple H hits a facebuster and then sets up for a pedigree but Orton counters it and catapults Triple H into the top turnbuckle. Orton tries for an RKO but Triple H pushes him into the corner and follows it up with a high knee for a two count. Triple H attempts a pedigree but Orton counters it and knocks Triple H down with a clothesline. Orton smashes Triple H into the barricade and then the steel steps before rolling the champion back into the ring.

Orton hits some big right hands and Triple H sells like only Ric Flair would. Orton then tries for a DDT but Triple H hangs on to the top rope. Orton rolls to the outside and has a faraway look in his eyes. Referee Earl Hebner screams at Orton to get back into the ring and then as he does, Triple H knocks Orton into the referee, taking both of them out. Triple H then stomps on the back of Ortons head, sending him back out of the ring. Helmsley checks under the ring and grabs his trusty sledgehammer but Orton pulls him into the ringpost. Both men look out of it now as they get back into the ring. Randy picks up the sledgehammer but Triple H takes him down with a clothesline. Triple H then picks up the sledgehammer but as the referee gets back up to his feet Triple H throws the sledgehammer out of the ring. Triple H picks up Orton for a pedigree and nails it in the middle of the ring. He hooks the leg and the referee counts the 3! Triple H retains his World Heavyweight Championship tonight! An enjoyable match between these two! Great psychology.

Nunzio is walking backstage with his number for the Royal Rumble when Kurt Angle steals the number from him! It looks like Kurt is entering the Rumble!

Teddy Long and Eric Bischoff are backstage and Teddy gives Eric his props over the Raw main event and no outside interference. JBL then walks in celebrating with his cabinet. Teddy Long lets Layfield know that at No Way Out next month Bradshaw will defend his WWE Championship against The Big Show in a barbed wire steel cage match!

The 2005 Royal Rumble Match

It’s the big one. Love the Royal Rumble match. Numbers one and two are none other than Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit! Both men left Wrestlemania last year as World Champions and neither man can get the better of the other tonight. Eddie applies a hammerlock and then a headlock into a sleeper. Benoit will have to go the whole way again to win this Royal Rumble, much like last year. #3 is Daniel Puder who won Tough Enough. He beat The Miz in a Dixie Dog Fight in December. Puder walks around the ring and grabs a microphone, cuts a terrible promo about being the first Tough Enough champion to win the Royal Rumble. Benoit and Guerrero lay into Puder, hitting him with some nasty looking chops and then a double suplex. The number 3 spot is always the worst, unless you’re Ric Flair. Benoit hits Puder with a back suplex and Eddie goes one better, hitting 3 consecutive suplexes. #4 is Hardcore Holly who made his PPV debut in the 1994 Royal Rumble match. Hardcore gets in the ring and tells Guerrero and Benoit that he wants Puder. Holly hits a few brutal chops and then Guerrero wants to compare them to Benoits chops. Puders chest is bright red and I feel very very sorry for him.

Eddie hits Puder with a chop and then Hardcore hits a low blow on the Tough Enough Champion before planting him with an Alabama Slam before throwing him over the top rope and eliminating Daniel Puder from the match. #5 is The Hurricane and as he makes his entrance, Eddie and Benoit eliminate Hardcore Holly from the match. Benoit and Guerrero double team Hurricane before Eddie turns on Benoit. Hurricane hits a blockbuster on Guerrero and then Benoit throws the superhero at Eddie who hits a back body drop and eliminates The Hurricane from the match. #6 is Kenzo Suzuki  who goes after Chris Benoit but finds himself double teamed by Guerrero and Benoit. It’s a Royal Rumble debut for Suzuki. Benoit nearly eliminates Guerrero and it’s time for #7 Edge who beat Shawn Michaels earlier tonight. Edge goes after anyone moving before hitting Benoit with some chops. Edge tries to eliminate Eddie who hangs on to the middle rope. Kenzo Suzuki tries to eliminate Benoit in the other corner.

Edge then goes after Kenzo but Benoit takes edge down with a sledge. #8 is Rey Mysterio who gets a decent pop. Rey goes after Eddie and then Edge, hitting a bulldog on Edge. Mysterio hits a flying head scissors on Kenzo Suzuki eliminating him from the match! Four big names in the match at the moment with Mysterio, Guerrero, Benoit and Edge. #9 is another popular superstar in Intercontinental Champion Shelton Benjamin. He hits a back body drop on Eddie and then lays into Edge with some big right hands. Benoit has Mysterio over the top rope and then Eddie tries to eliminate Benoit. Mysterio hits a flying head scissors on Rey and then out comes #10 Booker T! Lots of big names in there right now. Booker T goes for Edge, laying into him with some right hands. Mysterio and Benjamin topple over the top rope together but land on the apron. Out from the back walks Eric Bischoff! #11 is Chris Jericho just to add to the big names. He lays into anyone he can with right hands and then hits Edge with a side suplex before laying into Eddie with some right hands. Teddy Long then walks out to support his Smackdown stars.

#12 is Luther Reigns who is making his Royal Rumble debut. Jericho and Reigns go at it and then everyone in the ring splits into Raw and Smackdown. All 8 men then go at it and the crowd love it! Jericho and Mysterio go at it, Eddie and Benjamin, Edge and Booker and Benoit and Reigns. #13 is Muhammad Hassan who is making his Royal Rumble debut. Lots of heat for this guy who beat Jerry Lawler at New Year’s Revolution a few weeks ago. Everyone in the ring stops to watch Hassan make his entrance. They surround him and then all 8 men lay into him! They set him up on the ropes and Rey Mysterio hits him with a 619! They all then pick him up and throw him over the top eliminating Muhammad Hassan from the match. #14 is Orlando Jordan making his Royal Rumble debut. Jordan goes right after Luther Reigns but Booker T and Chris Benoit go after Jordan. The ring is really starting to fill up now. Benjamin has Jericho over the top rope but Y2J hangs on.

#15 is Scotty 2 Hotty! Scotty has been in a few Rumbles before, who could forget him busting a move in 2000? Muhammad Hassan attacks Scotty as he makes his entrance and applies a camel clutch in the entrance way! Benoit has Orlando Jordan over the top rope whilst Luther Reigns lays into Booker T with stomps. #16 is Charlie Haas as Booker T takes down everyone. Booker T then eliminates Luther Reigns & Orlando Jordan. Scotty 2 Hotty ia taken to the back whilst in the ring Booker T does a spineroonie! Mysterio then dropkicks Booker and Eddie pulls down the top rope eliminating Booker T from the match. #17 is Rene Dupree who I didn’t think was in the match because he lost his qualifying match to John Cena. Dupree goes after Rey Mysterio but Haas attacks Dupree from behind. Haas and Benjamin then hit their trademark double team move from when they used to be a team! Shelton then dives up to the top but Edge pushes him off, eliminating Shelton Benjamin from the match.

#18 is Simon Dean making his pay per view debut! Simon Dean is absolutely brilliant. He takes his time getting to the ring. Simon then puts on a belt and starts warming up outside the ring. Edge then eliminates Eddie Guerrero from the match. Simon Dean is doing press-ups outside the ring. #19 is Shawn Michaels  and Simon Dean is now warming up in the ring. Shawn Michaels eliminates Simon Dean pretty sharpish. An “Eddie” chant breaks out as he leaves. Edge tries to corner Mysterio but can’t because he’s too quick. Shawn Michaels back body drop Charlie Haas eliminating him from the match. #20 is Kurt Angle who stole the number from Nunzio earlier. Kurt hits a German suplex on Benoit, a belly to belly suplex on Mysterio, a German suplex on Jericho and an Angle slam on both Edge and Rene Dupree. Shawn Michaels goes for sweet chin music but Angle catches the leg! Michaels pushes Angle off and then hits him with sweet chin music, eliminating Kurt Angle from the match! #21 is Coach who has the best music ever.

Coach sneaks around, hits Benoit with a cheap shot and then hides in the corner” Benoit goes after him but Coach hangs on to the bottom rope Shawn Michaels lays into Edge in one corner whilst Jericho tries to eliminate Rey Mysterio. #22 is Mark Jindrak and as he makes his entrance Kurt Angle gets back into the ring and eliminates Shawn Michaels! Kurt then rams the ring steps into the face of Shawn Michaels and lays into him with right hands before locking on the ankle lock! Referee’s an agents drag Kurt Angle to the back as Shawn Michaels bleeds in the entrance way. #23 is Viscera who has been in his fair share of Royal Rumbles before. Viscera lays into Mark Jindrak and then Rey Mysterio. Benoit tries to eliminate Rene Dupree whilst Coach hides in another corner. #24 is Paul London who runs down to the ring. London goes after Dupree who takes him down and French Ticklers in the middle of the ring! Jericho then eliminates Rene Dupree!

#25 is John Cena who gets a huge pop. The United States Champion goes right for Viscera and the everyone else! Viscera gets the better of Cena but Cena hits a back body drop and eliminates Viscera from the match! #26 is Snitsky who is heavily taped up. He takes down Edge, Jindrak, Mysterio, Jericho and Benoit. Snitsky and Paul London then go at it and London jumps on his back. Snitsky manages to pull London onto the apron and then hits him with a big time clothesline to the face, spinning him 360 degrees and eliminating Paul London from the match. #27 is Kane who goes right for Snitsky. London gets taken away on a stretcher as Kane chokeslams Edge, Chris Benoit, John Cena, Chris Jericho and Rey Mysterio and then eliminating Mark Jindrak. Coach attacks Kane from behind and is saved by Snitsky. Snitsky hits a pump handle slam on Kane as #28 Batista comes out to a huge pop. Batista quickly eliminates Snitsky.

Kane and Batista go face to face and slug it out. Batista then hits Kane with a Batista bomb! Batista then eliminates Chris Jericho! Batista has Edge teetering. #29 is Christian who is joined by Tyson Tomko. John Cena then eliminates Kane. #30 is Ric Flair who drew his number out earlier before it was stolen by Eddie Guerrero. Flair goes right for Coach, throwing him at Batista who hits Coach with a spinebuster. Flair then eliminates Coach! Batista hits Christian with a big spinebuster and then throws him over the top, eliminating Christian from the match. Benoit is still in there and goes to work on Flair. Batista hits Benoit with a spinebuster. Flair then eliminates Benoit from the match and tries to throw out Batista in an absolute comedy moment. Mysterio and Edge hit a double dropkick on Batista before he can do anything. Edge spears Flair. Edge then eliminates Ric Flair from the match to boo’s.

The final four men are Batista, Edge, John Cena and Rey Mysterio. One of these men will main event Wrestlemania for their first ever time. Edge spears Batista and then spear Cena. Edge tries for a spear on Mysterio but Rey leapfrogs him, hits Edge with a drop toe hold onto the ropes and then nails him with a 619. Mysterio misses with a west coast pop and Edge then eliminates Rey Mysterio. Three men left. Batista and Cena eliminate Edge! Just two men left. Cena and Batista, two very popular superstars. The two men slug it out and then Cena gets Batista up for an FU and tries to tip him over the top but Batista fights him off. Batista then sets Cena up for a Batista bomb and the two men go crashing over the top rope together! The Raw referee claims Batista won whilst the Smackdown referees claim Cena won!

Vince McMahon comes out from the back looking absolutely furious. He slides into the ring and puts his knee out so he can’t get up to his feet. McMahon just sits there and watches as Batista eliminates Cena again. And then Cena throws Batista out again. An announcement is then made that the match be restarted between the final 2! Cena sets Batista up for an FU but Batista gets down and hits a spinebuster before throwing Cena over the top and winning the match! Batista wins the 2005 Royal Rumble after an unplanned ending!

Rating: 8/10

That was the 2005 Royal Rumble event. These shows are always great but this felt like the best show in a long time. Edge and Shawn Michaels kicked off the night and it didn’t feel like they had a lot of chemistry but they are both such awesome talents that they still put on a decent enough match. At this time of the year you’re looking at every win and thinking that the winner is likely to be on a higher spot at Wrestlemania. Edge got the win but it was far from clean. I like Michaels putting over Edge, maybe 2005 will be the year Edge rises to the top. Undertaker beat Heidenreich in a fun match. There was a lot of chaos which saved the match from being awful. Kane and Snitsky getting involved backs up my theory that there’s going to be a tag team match at Wrestlemania. Undertaker has beaten Heidenreich twice now so surely this feud has to come to an end soon.

John “Bradshaw” Layfield retained his WWE Championship in the triple threat match against Kurt Angle and The Big Show. I really enjoyed this match actually and much like the previous match it wasn’t without interference. Is the attitude era returning? I liked the ending with Reigns, Jindrak and The Basham Brothers fighting off The Big Show allowing JBL to defeat Kurt. I thought it was weird for Angle to take the pinfall but later in we find out that Layfield takes on Big Show next month. Triple H then retained his World Heavyweight Championship against Randy Orton. I really admired the psychology in this one and Orton played his part to a tee at the end, he really looked spaced out. Good match between these two.

The Royal Rumble was fun as it always is. Daniel Puder took a beating at the start off the likes of Chris Benoit and Hardcore Holly. Then we had some really good talents in there before the Raw and Smackdown face off and then uniting to take out Muhammad Hassan. Then came the midcarders and a few others before we got down to the final 4. I really like Edge, John Cena, Batista and Rey Mysterio as the final four and to be honest I thought it’d be Cena winning the whole thing. The ending was a botch with Batista losing his balance. He needed to grab on to the ropes to win the match. And then Vince McMahon comes out and tears his quad or something trying to get into the ring. A big win for Batista anyway who is a worthy winner and I look forward to the build with he and Triple H going into Wrestlemania. Overall a really enjoyable show and much improved on what we’ve had to put up with on PPV over the last few months.
