Log On. Take Over. Taboo Tuesday returns for a second year and once again, opponents and stipulations will be decided by the fans who can vote online. There will be 8 matches for the fans to vote on tonight with the main event being contested for the WWE Championship. John Cena will be defending his title in a triple threat match against Kurt Angle and a third man that will be voted on by the fans. Shawn Michaels was given one of the spots, Big Show beat Carlito to earn a second spot and Kane won a battle royal to win the third position. The two that do not win the vote tonight will team up to go up against Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch for the World Tag Team Championships. Big Show and Kane were booked in a tag team match last night on Raw whereas Shawn Michaels has been booked with Kurt Angle and John Cena so you can tell which way the office want the fans to vote.

Triple H returned to Raw a couple of weeks ago, teaming up with his long time friend Ric Flair. After the match Triple H attacked Flair, leaving him a bloody mess and severing all ties with his former friend. Triple H says that Flair isn’t the same man that he once was, that he is now mediocre, something Triple H realised when Carlito spat apple in Flairs face. There is a fans vote on the stipulation for this match, with the choices being either a cage match, a submissions match or a regular match. Flair has made it very clear that he wants to meet Triple H in a steel cage. The WWE Women’s Championship is also set to be defended in the return of the fulfil your fantasy battle royal. Trish will be defending the title against Candice Michelle, Victoria, Maria, Ashley and newcomer, seemingly Trish superfan, Mickie James. The outfits for the crowd to vote on in this one are either leather and lace, cheerleader or lingerie.

Carlito has had his problems with Mick Foley as of late. On the Cabana, Carlito spat in Foley’s face whilst foley told Carlito he had to step up. Tonight the two will go one on one but which face of Foley will Carlito be facing? The fans will get to choose on whether Foley turns up as Cactus Jack, Mankind or Dude Love. Rob Conway punked out all the legends that were at the Raw homecoming show a few weeks ago. Over the past few weeks he’s beaten the likes of Doink The Clown and Greg Valentine much to the dismay of Eugene. Tonight there will be a tag team match with Rob Conway and Tyson Tomko going up against Eugene and a legend voted for by the fans. Will it be “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan, Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka or Kamala?

A rivalry has been brewing between Raw and Smackdown over the past few weeks. It all started when Vince McMahon asked for a Smackdown match on the Raw homecoming show. A 6 man tag team match began but Eric Bischoff came out and cancelled it. since then, Edge and Chris Masters have led a charge against smackdown superstars including Rey Mysterio and JBL. A match has been made for Taboo Tuesday where Edge and Chris Masters will go up against two Smackdown superstars and the fans have to vote two from Rey Mysterio, John “Bradshaw” Layfield, Christian, Matt Hardy and Hardcore Holly. Jonathan Coachman was also scheduled to go one on one with Stone Cold Steve Austin but Austin got injured in the build up and instead Coach challenged anyone from Smackdown. Batista was quick to step up for the challenge. Coach has Goldust and Vader in his corner but will it be enough to see off Batista tonight? And what stipulation will the crowd vote on? An arm wrestle? A debate? or a street fight?

On Heat prior to the event Kerwin White and Matt Striker defeated Shelton Benjamin and Val Venis.

The show kicks off with a brief video showing a few highlights from the last few weeks before focusing on the WWE Championship match and then Triple H and Flair. Then which face of Foley will return? And can Batista win Jim Ross’s job back? The pyro goes off in the arena and we are right into the show! Joey Styles is on commentary with Jerry “The King” Lawler. Jim Ross is “fired” and Coach is wrestling tonight so Joey Styles fills in. Great stuff, I love Joey.

So we’re going to find out who will be wrestling Edge and Chris Masters tonight. Edge, Chris Masters and Lita enter the arena and then Todd Grisham is there to tell us who they will be facing tonight. Christian? Matt Hardy? Hardcore Holly? John “Bradshaw” Layfield? Rey Mysterio? The winners are…….Rey Mysterio and Matt Hardy! I was expecting Mysterio and JBL, especially with the way they’ve been building it. I think Lawler was too.

  • Christian (13%)
  • Matt Hardy (31%)
  • Hardcore Holly (10%)
  • JBL (17%)
  • Rey Mysterio (29%)

Edge & Chris Masters vs. Rey Mysterio & Matt Hardy

Rey Mysterio very popular with the crowd tonight. Chris Masters looks for his first ever PPV victory tonight, he’s only wrestled on PPV once before though. Edge was the only man in this match to have wrestled at last years event. He won the World Tag Team Championships with Chris Benoit last year, beating La Resistance. Lita gets on the mic before the bell rings and says that she has a surprise tonight, Edge won’t be wrestling tonight. Edge confirms it, saying he doesn’t need to beat Matt and Mysterio tonight. Edge doesn’t care about Raw or what the people want. Edge only cares about himself. Edge then introduces his replacement, Snitsky.

Chris Masters & Snitsky vs. Rey Mysterio & Matt Hardy

Chris Masters attacks both opponents and then out comes Snitsky. Masters officially starts the match against Mysterio, hitting him with a suplex. There is a Raw and a Smackdown referee in the ring. Masters tags in Snitsky who continues to lay into Mysterio. Snitsky beat Kane at last years Taboo Tuesday event. He hits a powerslam on Mysterio for another two count and then tags in Masters. Masters hits a couple of backbreakers and then turns it into a submission. Mysterio gets back into it with a tilt-a-whirl flying head scissors and then tags in Matt Hardy. Masters tags Snitsky but Matt takes him down with a flying forearm. Hardy dropkicks Masters off the apron and then there’s a bit of a miscommunication between Hardy and Snitsky. Hardy hits a side effect for a two count and then sets up for the twist of fate but Snitsky fights him off. Hardy gets out of the way of a big boot and then hits a sloppy superplex for a two count.

Masters gets involved and Snitsky takes hardy down with a big boot. Snitsky tags in Masters who hits a double underhook suplex for a two count. Masters applies a double armbar but Hardy fights his way out of it. Masters hits a clothesline and attempts a cover that Mysterio breaks up. Mysterio is in his hometown tonight. Masters tags Snitsky who hits a suplex for a two count and then applies a key lock. Hardy gets out of the key lock but Snitsky takes him back down with a spinebuster. Snitsky looking to get back to back Taboo Tuesday victories. Masters is tagged in and applies a front face lock. Hardy gets out of it and hits a reverse elbow and then a clothesline off the second rope for a two count. Masters tag Snitsky who drops an elbow on Hardy and then hits Mysterio with a cheap shot. Snitsky hits a slam and then drops another couple of elbows for a near fall. Hardy attempts a cross body but Snitsky catches him. Hardy hits an inverted DDT and both men are down.

Snitsky tags Masters and Hardy tags Mysterio! Mysterio hits a springboard seated senton on Snitsky and then a springboard forearm on Masters. It’s all Mysterio now as he dropkicks Masters and then attempts a tornado DDT on Snitsky. Snitsky puts the breaks on and throws Mysterio into Masters who applies the Masterlock on Mysterio! Mysterio forces himself on top of Masters and the Smackdown referee counts two but the Raw referee stops the count! All hell breaks loose as the Smackdown superstars force the Raw superstars out of the ring and then dive out on top of them! Back in the ring and Mysterio hits a springboard sunset flip on Masters for a two count. Snitsky then trips Mysterio and Masters hits a huge neckbreaker on Rey for a two count. All four men are back in the ring and Hardy hits a big DDT on Snitsky and then drop toe holds Masters onto the middle rope! Mysterio hits a 619 on Masters, Hardy hits a twist of fate and Mysterio hits the west coast pop on Masters to get the 3!

Matt Hardy and Rey Mysterio win the match, beating the two Raw stars! I can see why Edge wanted to get out of this, it would’ve done nothing for his push. A good win for Mysterio and Hardy, I can see this Raw vs. Smackdown feud continuing into Wrestlemania.

Mick Foley is backstage saying he has never worn anything quite like the lingerie he’s holding. He thinks his luggage got mixed up with Maria’s who is wearing a Mankind mask.

Todd Grisham is on hand to find out who teams up with Eugene tonight. “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan? Kamala? “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka? Snuka gets a good reaction.

  • Jim Duggan (40%)
  • Kamala (17%)
  • Jimmy Snuka (43%)

Jimmy Snuka is up! Just beating Jim Duggan.

Eugene & “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka  vs. Rob Conway & Tyson Tomko

Well who knew Tyson Tomko still existed? Not the best representation of the Raw roster so far on this PPV. Eugene wrestled at last years Taboo Tuesday event and beat Eric Bischoff. Eugene starts the match with Tyson Tomko. Eugene out-smarts Tomko in the early going and then slams the bigger man. Conway then attacks Eugene from behind which allows Tomko to lay into Eugene with right hands and then tag in Conway. Weird to go with back to back tag team matches to kick off a shot. Conway chokes Eugene. Conway lost in tag team action at last years Taboo Tuesday. He drops an elbow for a near fall. Conway hits a dropkick and then tags in Tomko who hits a powerslam for a two count. Tomko tags in Conway who applies a chinlock. Conway breaks the hold and Eugene hits him with a couple of low headbutts but Conway catches him with a knee and then hits Snuka with a cheap shot. Conway then tags in Tomko.

Eugene tries to fight back against both opponents who make quick tags. Eugene hits Conway with a clothesline and crotches Tomko on the top rope. Eugene then tags in Jimmy Snuka! Snuka, who is looking old, hits some chops and a headbutt on Conway but Tomko attacks Snuka from behind! All four men get in the ring and Eugene disposes of Tomko. Snuka and Eugene then hit headbutts on Conway and Eugene drops Conway with a rock bottom! Snuka goes up to the top and hits the Superfly splash on Conway for the three! Eugene and Jimmy Snuka win tonight! Tomko attacks Snuka and Eugene after the match but out come Jim Duggan and Kamala! Duggan hits a big clothesline on Tomko and then Kamal hits the splash!

There’s an advert for the new Jake Roberts DVD.

Todd Grisham is out to announce who Mick Foley will be wrestling as tonight. Mankind, Dude Love or Cactus Jack?

  • Cactus Jack (35%)
  • Dude Love (13%)
  • Mankind (52%)

Mankind wins! We then gets a VT showing the history between Carlito and Mick Foley.

Carlito vs. Mankind

Like every match tonight, this is a first time contest. Neither men wrestled at last years Taboo Tuesday. Carlito hits some lefts and rights in the early going and then a dropkick but can’t take Foley off his feet. Mankind hits a reverse elbow which does take Carlito down. Mankind then ties Carlito up in a tree of woe and then drops the elbow. Mankind catapults Carlito into the second rope and then baseball slides him out of the ring. On the outside Mankind hits a neckbreaker on Carlito and then grabs a steel chair. Carlito drop toe holds Mankind onto both the chair and the ring steps. Carlito then hits a dropkick and Mankind hits the steps again, this time via the back of Mankinds head. Back in the ring and Carlito gets a near fall before laying into Mankind with right hands. Carlito hits a side Russian leg sweep for a near fall. Carlito hits an electric chair on the much bigger Mankind for another near fall.

Carlito applies a sleeper but Mankind gets out of it and both men take each other down with clotheslines. Mankind is up first and starts pulling his hair out, vintage Mankind. Foley then lays into Carlito with right hands and a running knee in the corner. It’s been a good night for the babyfaces so far. Mankind hits a clothesline on Carlito and goes out with him. We then get some classic Mankind as he goes up onto the apron and drops an elbow down to Carlito on the mat. Mankind gets a near fall. Mankind then hits the double underhook DDT! But business is about to pick up as Mankind pulls out Mr Socko! Socko has hair like Carlito! Mankind shoves the sock down Carlito’s throat and after taking Carlito down to the mat, the referee calls for the bell! Mankind wins the match with Mr Socko! Not a bad match between these two!

Eric Bischoff is backstage moaning about Teddy Long when Vince McMahon shows up. Vince is looking forward to the Raw vs. Smackdown match but Bischoff tells him that the match has already happened and it didn’t go to plan. McMahon isn’t happy that Raw lost the match on their own show. McMahon is disappointed and asks who the hell he is. McMahon says he is tired of people like Bischoff who are waiting for him to step up. He wants some killer instinct from Eric. McMahon then wishes Bischoff good luck with the other Raw vs. Smackdown match, Coach vs. Batista.

Todd Grisham is back to talk about the main event. We’re going to find out who will be the third superstar in that match and essentially who will be in the tag team match. Big Show, Kane and Shawn Michaels.

  • Big Show (16%)
  • Kane (38%)
  • Shawn Michaels (46%)

Unsurprisingly Shawn Michaels wins. It’s the way they’ve been directing the fans to vote and it’s how it turned out.

Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch (c) vs. Kane & The Big Show – World Tag Team Championship Match

It’s a first time meeting between these two teams. Last year at Taboo Tuesday the tag team titles changed hands when La Resistance defended against the runners up of the vote, Chris Benoit and Edge. Kane lost to Snitsky at last years Taboo Tuesday event. This is three tag team matches in the first four matches tonight. Kane lays into Murdoch as the bell rings. Murdoch pushes Kane but Kane drops Trevor down with a big right uppercut. Kane hits Murdoch with some big right hands and then chokes him in the corner. Kane hits two big clotheslines in the corner but then runs into Murdochs boot. Murdoch clotheslines Kane and then tags in Cade. Kane lays into Cade with a boot and then tags in Big Show. Big Show hits a big chop on Cade and then hits him with some big boots and another big chop! Snapmare from Big Show and then a running boot to the face.

This is a first PPV defence for the tag team champions. Cade rakes the eyes of Big Show and then tags in Murdoch. Murdoch struggles to Irish whip Big Show so instead Big Show throws Murdoch into the corner and hits him with one of his big chops. Big Show headbutts Murdoch and then tags in Kane who looks small compared to his tag team partner. Murdoch hits a thumb to the eye on Kane and then tags in Lance Cade. Kane hits Cade with a big boot and then heads to the top but Murdoch shoves Kane down to the floor! Cade and Murdoch then hit their finisher “sweet and sour” to Kane on the outside! Back in the ring and Cade tags in Murdoch who applies an inverted full nelson to the big red machine. Kane drives Murdoch back into the corner and Cade tags himself in. Murdoch hits an inverted atomic drop and Cade follows it up with a swinging neckbreaker. Kane sits up and grabs Cade by the throat but Lance breaks it up. Kane then takes both tag team champions down.

Kane tags in The Big Show! Show lays everyone out and then squashes Cade in the corner. Kane then comes off the top and hits Murdoch with a clothesline off the top. Kane disposes of Murdoch and then both Kane and Big Show hit a double chokeslam on Cade which is enough for the three! Kane and The Big Show win the world tag team championships tonight! Todd Grisham gets in the ring after the match but Murdoch interrupts the interview, telling the new champions that they didn’t chokeslam him. Kane and Big Show change that and chokeslam Murdoch in the middle of the ring.

Vader and Goldust are backstage getting ready. Coach shows up, happy with their work from Raw last night. Coach has his sights set on being WWE Champion. Good luck with that.

Todd Grisham is getting excited about the fulfil your fantasy battle royal. The divas all then comes out. Maria, Candice, Ashley, Victoria, Mickie James and Trish Stratus. What will they be wearing though?

  • Lingerie (43%)
  • Leather and Lace (32%)
  • Cheerleader (25%)

It’s lingerie for their match tonight! Jerry Lawler is excited.

There’s a video package up next showing how the Coach vs. Batista match came to be.

Todd Grisham announcers the stipulation for the upcoming match between Coach and Batista.

  • Verbal Debate (6%)
  • Arm Wrestling Match (3%)
  • Street Fight (91%)

No shocks there. Apart from 9% of the votes going to the other two options.

Batista vs. Jonathan Coachman – Street Fight

Another first as these two men meet on pay per view. Coach has Goldust and Vader in his corner. Batista has wrestled on more pay per views in 2005 than any other WWE superstar so far. With no disqualifications, Vader and Goldust double team Batista in the early going with Batista fighting both men off. It’s been a bizarre year or so of returns, first Viscera and Gangrel and now Goldust and Vader. Vader and Goldust manage to hammer Batista down to the mat as Coach watches on. Batista fights them off, taking Goldust down with a big spear. Coach then gets in the ring but Batista drops him. Batista sets Vader up for a suplex but Goldust stops that from happening, taking Batista down with a kendo stick! Coach then takes the timekeepers belt and whips Batista with it. Batista fights back again, taking all three men down and then whipping them all with the belt! Batista hits a big spinebuster on Vader and then slaps Coach. Batista hits a Batista bomb on Coach and that’s all she wrote. Batista beats Coach tonight in a pretty short match. Entertaining enough though!

Rating 4/10

Todd Grisham is backstage with Shawn Michaels. Michaels is happy to be “the popular kid in school”. Shawn Michaels has been voted into the main event for the second year in a row. Kurt Angle shows up and says that he and Michaels should take Cena out and then fight for the title between the two. Michaels says he’ll think about it.

Trish Stratus (c) vs. Mickie James vs. Ashley vs. Maria vs. Victoria vs. Candice Michelle – Fulfil your fantasy battle royal for the Women’s Championship

There was one of these at last years Taboo Tuesday but only Trish and Victoria remain from last years field. This match marks in-ring PPV debuts for Mickie James, Maria and Candice Michelle. The girls come out wearing lingerie for this one as voted for by the fans. Torrie Wilson was originally announced for this match but is presumably injured. The six women pair up as the bell rings, Trish and Victoria go at it, Mickey James and Candice and then Ashley and Maria. Victoria and Trish go at it on the top rope and Mickie James saves Trish. Trish Stratus and Mickie James then eliminate Maria. They nearly eliminate Victoria too but she stays in. Candice goes up to the middle rope but Ashley tips her upside down, nearly eliminating her. Candice celebrates on the apron but then Ashley hammers her, eliminating Candice from the match.

Victoria hits a big tilt-a-whirl side slam on Trish. Mickie James gets Victoria in a head scissors and then Mickie James and Ashley get Victoria over the top but not quite to the floor below. Victoria catapults Ashley, eliminating Ashley from the match. Just Trish, Victoria and Mickie James left. Victoria hits the tilt-a-whirl sideslam on Mickie. Trish lays into Victoria with a spinning head-scissors. Victoria nearly eliminates Trish but Mickie James saves Trish. Victoria hits a clothesline on Mickie James and then misses with a clothesline on Trish. Victoria attempts to eliminate Trish but once again Mickie James saves her. Mickie James then spears Victoria and both Mickie James & Victoria go through the ropes and are eliminated! That looked rough, both women landed badly. Both Trish Stratus wins the match and retains her Women’s Championship! Todd attempts to interview Trish after the match but Mickie cuts in and says how Trish is the best Women’s champion of all time. Trish looks a bit freaked out!

Rating: 3.5/10

There’s a VT for Triple H and Ric Flair next.

So which stipulation will the match have? Fairly easy one I think!

  • 1 fall to a finish (4%)
  • Submission (13%)
  • Steel Cage (83%)

Ric Flair (c) vs. Triple H – Steel Cage match for the Intercontinental Championship

Firstly, this is Triple H’s 100th PPV match. Only The Undertaker has wrestled more PPV matches. It’s a first time match between these him and Flair. Too much history to even get started. Ric Flair has been wanting a cage match and he got his way. Flair lost to Randy Orton in a cage match at last years Taboo Tuesday event. On the same night Triple H retained his World Heavyweight title against Shawn Michaels. Flair gets the first offence in, hitting a chop on Triple H as the two men figure each other out. Flair hits a few more chops and Triple H hits him back with right hands as the two men slug it out. Triple H hits a high knee which takes Flair down. Triple H looking to join Eugene and Trish Stratus as the only superstars to have won at the 2004 and 2005 Taboo Tuesday events. Flair hits chops and Triple H hits right hands and then a spinebuster. Triple H throws Flair into the side of the cage and it’s a matter of time until Flair is bleeding. Oh, he already is. Triple H throws him into the side of the cage again. Helmsley hits a snapmare and then hits a knee drop.

Triple H rubs Flairs face up against the side of the cage and then squashes him into it. It is all Triple H now as he hits right hands into the bloody forehead of Flair. Flair is selling like a trooper in this one. Triple H climbs the cage but Flair catches him up, the two men chop it out and then both men fall down and crotch themselves on the top rope. Triple H is first up and climbs the cage again but at the top of the cage he finds some steel chain. Helmsley wraps it around his knuckles and comes off the top but Flair gets his boot up! Flair then attempts a figure four but Triple H hits him with his chain-wrapped right hand and pins Ric for a two count. Triple H lays into Flair with some big right hands until Flair hits the mat like only Flair does. Triple H hits a knee drop to the back of the neck and then mocks the nature boy. Triple H then applies the figure four! Flair flips the bird to Triple H and then reverses the figure four but Triple H is quick to get to the ropes. Lots of woo ‘s from the crowd. Triple H then tries for the figure four again but Flair kicks him off and into the side of the cage.

Triple H is busted open now and Flair’s comeback begins. Flairs bites Triple H and then hits him with lefts and rights. Flair throws Triple H into the side of the cage and then takes The Game down with a suplex. Flairs hits some more chops and then a chopblock. Ric works the knee of Triple H, softening it up for the figure four. And right on cue Flair locks the figure four on! Triple H pulls the referee down onto Flair which breaks the figure four! Flair is first up and hits a knee drop before climbing the cage! Triple H tries to stop him but Flair comes off the top with an axe handle for a near fall. Flair hits the most blatant low blow you will ever see. He then tries to exit the cager but Triple H stops him. Flair manages to grab a steel chair which is conveniently set up next to the cage door. Triple H stops Flair from using the chair and then grabs it himself. Triple H attempts to use the chair but Flair grabs him by the balls! That’ll stop you. Flair uses his other hand to hit some right hands!

Triple H attempts the pedigree out of nowhere but Flair back body drops him onto the chair. Flair then smashes triple H with the chair! Flair smashes Triple H with the chair two more times! They show a shocked looking fan in the crowd who looks a bit like Stephanie McMahon. Flair then escapes out of the cage! Ric Flair wins the match! I did not expect that! He just walked straight out of the cage door. Great match between these two.

There’s an ad for the new Wrestlemania anthology.

Joey Styles tells us that Taboo Tuesday has had 6,351,188 votes.

John Cena (c) vs. Kurt Angle vs. Shawn Michaels – Triple Threat match for the World Heavyweight Championship

I have no doubt this is going to be a good match. Like every single match tonight, this is a first time meeting between these three superstars. It is John Cena’s 5th PPV defence of his title. Kurt hammers Michaels out of the ring as the bell rings and then lays into Cena. Cena hits a reverse elbow and a fishermans suplex on Angle and then hammers Michaels. HBK gets back involved and hammers away at both opponents. Cena breaks up a pinfall attempt from Michaels. Cena disposes of Angle and backslides Michaels for a two count. Michaels then hits Cena with a clothesline and a right hand. Kurt Angle is back and hits german suplexes on both men and a belly to belly suplex on both men. Kurt attempts the Angle slam on Michaels but Michaels counters it into a sunset flip,. Kurt counters that and tries to get the ankle lock on but Michaels kicks him off and into Cena.

Cena scoops Angle up for an FU and the crowd boo but Angle stops that form happening. Multiple pinfall attempts then from all three men and then Angle and Michaels double team Cena and the crowd go nuts. Michaels and Angle both throw Cena into the ringpost and then exit the ring. Kurt smashes Cena into the ring steps whilst Shawn Michaels takes the announce desk apart. The two men then hit a face first suplex on Cena through the Spanish announce table. I guess that’s Cena taken out so Kurt and Shawn go at it in the ring. Michaels hits a powerslam for a near fall and then Angle hits a reverse elbow. Kurt hits a high knee and then some right hands. The two men slug it out and Kurt hits a suplex. Angle then applies a body scissors with a sleeper as a high pitched “Cena” chant breaks out. Michaels fights out of the body scissors and hits some chops but Kurt catches him with a belly to belly suplex. Kurt pops Michaels on the top and hits Shawn with an Angle slam off the top but somehow Michaels kicks out! Cena then comes out of nowhere and takes Angle down with clothesline, a shoulderblock and then a clothesline out of the ring.

Cena hits Michaels with a back body drop, a hard Irish whip and a slam. Cena attempts the five knuckle shuffle but Angle pulls Cena out of the ring. Michaels then jumps out at Angle! The pace has momentarily quickened in this match but now all three men are down. Michaels and Angle are first up and back into the ring. Michaels hits a flying forearm, nips up and hits clotheslines and a powerslam. Cena then gets back into the ring and Michaels hits him with some chops and a flying forearm. Michaels nips up but Angle is there waiting for him and belly to belly suplexes him out of the ring. Cena then slams Angle and hits him with the five knuckle shuffle to boo’s from the crowd. Cena attempts the FU but Kurt counters it into an ankle lock! Michaels goes up top and hits an elbow drop on Kurt to break the hold! Shawn sets up for sweet chin music and nails Angle with it! And then Cena hits Michaels with the FU! Cena hooks the leg and gets the 3! John Cena win the match! He sells his ankle injury after the match, pushing the referee away.

And that was Taboo Tuesday. A night in which the babyfaces won every single match. You don’t see that often. The voting was very predictable and for the most part it was exactly how the bookers had swayed the fans to vote. I was surprised by Matt Hardy being voted into the opening match. Not only that but he won the voting, getting nearly a third of the audience votes. There was then another surprise when Edge pulled out of the match and was replaced by Snitsky. With Matt Hardy, Snitsky and Chris Master this match suddenly had a lot less appeal than if Edge and JBL were in it. Mysterio and Matt Hardy won the match which was the right call. This Raw vs. Smackdown feud will probably run until Survivor Series.

Jimmy Snuka won the second vote, in one that could have gone any way. I would have preferred Jim Duggan ton win this one or probably Kamala. Snuka won though and stood on the apron for most of the match before hitting the Superfly splash. I didn’t think we’d see a worse heel team than Chris Masters and Snitsky but apparently Rob Conway and Tyson Tomko stepped up. Eugene and Snuka won. I would assume this feud is over. Up next was Mick Foley as Mankind against Carlito. I don’t think I expected Mankind to win the vote, I would have liked to have seen Dude Love. Mankind won the match though which seemed a bit unnecessary. I’d have preferred the full time superstar Carlito to win.

Big Show and Kane lost the vote to star in the main event and so got their shot at the world tag team championships. For the second year in a row the tag team titles changed hands at Taboo Tuesday. I like Big Show and Kane as a team, they don’t have much else going on so why not? I do like Cade and Murdoch though so it’s a shame their reign has been de-railed but I wouldn’t be too shocked to see the titles go back to them in the near future. Batista beat Coach in a street fight. Batista beat up Coach, Goldust and Vader and won the match. I would guess it would have been exactly the same if Austin was in the match. Trish Stratus won the battle royal but the story is Mickie James helping her out and this obsession she has with Trish. I like this a lot. Ashley has been pushed out of the picture now and Mickie has the focus. Candice and Maria were purely filler. Oh and they did it all in lingerie.

Ric Flair beat Triple H cleanly in the steel cage match. This was a huge shock to me. I didn’t expect Triple H to win the Intercontinental Championship, I don’t think either men need that but Triple H losing cleanly in a cage match? You don’t see that often. I don’t mind it though! And I don’t think it’ll be over between these two men. It’s a different way to start the rivalry rather than the face chasing the heel. John Cena then retained his WWE Championship against Kurt Angle and Shawn Michaels. This was a great triple threat and one of the more under-rated triple threat matches in history. Cena gets a lot of stick but I don’t mind him. He was always going to struggle against two of the best of all time though. Cena pins Michaels to retain the gold and I think they could squeeze one more match out of Cena and Angle.
